You can think of BioRender as the “Figma/Canva for scientists,” with a suite of web-based graphics communication products that empower scientists to create beautiful scientific visuals and presentations with ease. Co-founded by Shiz Aoki, a world-renowned Medical Illustrator, our team has continuously put user experience and design at the core of our product development process. BioRender is design and UX first, something that’s ingrained into our company DNA.
We’re looking for a Head of Product Design to drive the definition of our product design strategy & vision, lead our Product Design team, and evolve our design processes. This is a critical role in our engineering, product, and design (EPD) leadership team, and an opportunity to work on a product where design and illustration is at the center of everything we do.
What you'll do at BioRender:
Drive our overall product design direction and vision, working with the EPD and executive leadership team.
Be the guardian of and hold a high bar for the experiences we deliver to our end-users.
Build and develop a best-in-class product design team that is obsessed on constantly learning about our users.
Evolve our product design operational practices to match our rapidly scaling EPD organization, enabling us to run more efficiently as we scale.
Promote excellent cross-functional collaboration between the product design team and the rest of the company.
What we're looking for:
Demonstrated experience in a senior design leadership role of a SaaS product, with multiple years of managing designers, ideally a B2B product with a high end-user NPS.
On-the-ground experience in SaaS product design and user research on products with complex or highly technical workflows.
Track record of collaborating with and influencing senior leaders across the company to your design vision.
Proven ability to execute and lead in an ambiguous, high-growth, and product-led environment.
Science background is not necessary, but is a plus. A willingness and curiosity to learn about science and our users’ scientific workflows is a must!
